Ayurveda Regenerative Medicine System

Ayurveda, the traditional Indian system of medicine has given great emphasis to the promotion of health. Ayurveda therapies are based on restoration of body balance and nourishment of dhatus or tissues. Rasayana concept of Ayurveda explains tissue regeneration and cell renewal.

Elders in India traditionally bless the young with the words “Shataayu Bhavah!”which means “May you live a hundred years!” The blessing is not too removed from the literal. According to ayurveda, the human body is indeed engineered for a full five score years and more. The three pillars of life — diet, sleep and self-mastery — form the foundation on which ayurveda says you can build good health and longevity, as Ayurveda is regenerative.

Ayurveda is India’s traditional regenerative & authentic alternative therapy, which uses holistic healing methods to promote good health. The three main classical texts that are the foundation of Ayurveda are the Charaka Samhita (Charaka), Ashtanga Hridaya (Vagbhata) and Susruta Samhita (Susruta) and according to these texts the human body is made of 5 elements – earth, fire, air, water and space. These five elements combine in the body to for three Doshas – Vata Dosha (Space and Air), Pitta Dosha (Fire and Water) and Kapha Dosha (Water and Earth). Ayurvedic treatment tries to bring about a balance between the mind, body and spirit and harmonise it with the universe. Any disruption of this harmony causes sickness and poor health.

Ayurveda has been a part of life of the people of India since the dawn of civilization and in recent years, Western culture has also embraced the procedure of regenerative & holistic healing of the patient’s mind, body and spirit. Often called the “Science of Life”, Ayurveda has various physical and mental benefits that help in improving the overall quality of life. Usually a lot of people get severely effected by Loneliness that leads to mental disorders.

Regenerative medicine is primarily focussed on stem cell engineering. Traditional systems of medicine like Ayurveda which are known for their healing capabilities can offer a lot more to the science of regenerative medicine when examined with a modern perspective. The system that lays the crux of its treatment on ensuring equilibrium in the body cannot be oblivious to tissue repair, regeneration and healing that goes on naturally in the body in times of necessity like injury and disease. The fundamental principles of Ayurveda while being different from those of modern medicine can be complementary to it. Ayurveda is also a science with practices to achieve longevity of life being one of its 8 branches. It goes without saying that anti-aging therapies form important aspects of Ayurveda.
